The Shoals,ALA native Rhyal Knight teamed up with Grammy winning producer and engineer Colin Lott (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell) to create his newest EP “Circles Around Myself”. Knight continues to flex his sonic boundaries, conjuring analog and digital hybrids fueled by funk,americana, soul, and hints of rap production with pop sensibility. 

His spring 2022 LP release, “Rifts and Waves” features both the late Todd Nance (Widespread Panic) and Chris Taylor (Grizzly Bear). Following his move to Athens, Georgia,  Knight grabbed the attention of Nance, after being introduced by producer David Barbe (Drive- By Truckers). The two began work on Knight’s forthcoming album until Nance’s passing.

    Following his move to Athens GA, from Muscle Shoals, and his late 2017 release of his critically acknowledged EP “In Quotations”, Knight grabbed the attention of Todd Nance (formerly of Widespread Panic), after being introduced by producer David Barbe.  Knight had spent much of the earlier half of the decade touring with his psych-rock outfit Cold Cold Sweats until their disbandment in 2015. Which ultimately led to experimentation with his songwriting and production style. 

Upon expanded Nashville horizons, Knight emerges with a new attitude and a hauntingly idiosyncratic vibe.

“One On One Love” serves as a reflection of Knight’s exorcism of personal and professional demons, ushering a baptism into a mature marriage of funk and more modern progressive pop sensibilities. The record explores the integrations of psychedelic dance rock and R&B, serving as soundscape for his philosophical and heart wrenching lyricism.
